Story matters. It reflects our deepest desires and beliefs as seen through the lens of our life experiences. Stories can unite us and stories can divide us. Much like our ability to choose our perspective on matters can influence our experience as positive or negative, the way we see others can be influenced by the perspective through which we see them. Left to our own we have no other way to see them but through our own lens created by our own views and the experiences we’ve had.
Let’s change that.
Let’s start to see others for who they are and not how we think they are.
The goal of these videos and this podcast is to have real conversations with people in the Louisville community that you may pass without knowing it on any given day. These are the people helping you or someone you love in some service, they are the people driving in the car next to you stuck in traffic. These are the people that you’ll go vote on opposite sides of party lines against, and they are the people that you’ll eat in a restaurant with and never know their name.
This is your chance to know their name. This is your chance to know who they are. At times this may be your chance to get involved in community efforts to help someone, and this may just be your chance to look inward and find common ground with someone that you never thought you would have anything in common with.
